Job Description

ArcelorMittal USA has a MES Applications Analyst position available in its Information Technology Department. We offer challenging careers in Information Technology to people with high leadership, technical, and interpersonal potential.

As a MES Applications Systems Analyst, you will be involved in the analysis, configuration, implementation and maintenance of the new plant systems covering all aspects of manufacturing functions (line sequencing, yard optimization, production tracking, material tracking, quality management, order life cycle management, plant logistics, etc.).  You are expected to develop into the resident technical expert of the new systems and lead future rollouts.  As the technical expert, you will have the opportunity to interact with the solution experts and project teams from the ArcelorMittal plants across the world.

When you begin your career at ArcelorMittal you will be provided training that is a combination of in-house training along with custom training in the standard technologies used at ArcelorMittal.

Assignments are designed to develop technical expertise, leadership and general business skills.  In addition, personal and professional development is enhanced through seminars, workshops, and continuing education.

As you gain experience, you will be given the opportunity to lead projects, taking on increasing responsibilities and positions of leadership.  The variety of responsibilities and exposure received provides a framework for career development, whether you choose to pursue a technical or management career path.     

For the position, we are seeking candidates with strong backgrounds in Operations Research (Optimization) and Systems Technology. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Systems Engineering with appropriate major/minor combination or with appropriate mix of courses and project work that gives the required background.  In addition, the Company generally does not sponsor candidates for temporary visas or permanent residency at the Bachelor’s level.
